How to Conduct Yourself During an Interview
By Eugene Starr
1. Before the interview think over how you will wear. The appearance and demeanor are very important and determine the first impression. If you go for an interview at a financial institution, select conservative business attire. • Try and find out beforehand what style of dress adopted by the company - a business or more free, but in any case, the interview is better to dress more formally. If coming to work in jeans is in the order of things, you can afford it, when you begin working, but at the interview wearing a sweater and jeans come not worth it. • In any case, you should look neat and tidy. In women, the choice is much wider, but more errors they may be committed. • A woman is best to wear the suit for an interview or a sufficiently conservative dress, without falling into extremes when choosing the length of skirts, colors and decorations. Do not use sharp scent. 2. In advance, make sure you know how to get to the building of the company and where to park the car. Exit the house in advance. 3. Come 15 minutes before the appointed time. This way you show that you respect an interviewer and appreciate his time. If you're still going to be late, try to call back and to warn about the delay. 4. Remember that when choosing from several candidates with equal qualifications, a crucial role to play your ability to make a favorable impression during the interview. 5. A good night's sleep the night before I go to the interview. Not slept people never make a good impression. 6. Do not drink plenty of fluids. You can not find a toilet in an unfamiliar organization and will feel unwell during the interview. 7. If you are someone present, make every effort to properly hear and remember the name of this person. If you'll be able to apply to the other party by name, it will make a favorable impression. You can ask again, but it detects excessive nervousness. 8. It is important to clarify the duration of the interview and adhere to the agreed time. It will help to distribute the time between questions and answers, to determine the degree of detail answers. 9. Be polite and friendly to all who meet in the office. Do not forget to smile as he entered the study interviewer. Do not forget how important body language. Of equal importance, and your handshake: the hand must be dry and warm; handshake should be confident but not too strong. Make sure your posture, try to look into the eyes. Not an argument, however, nothing to extremes. 10. Do not forget to bring to the interview as much as possible the documents to prove your skills, education and more knowledge. 11. If you offer to fill in some forms, it is better to take them with him and return as soon as possible. Working with them at home, practice on a rough draft. Remember that everything has a meaning: and literacy, and writing, and clarity of language. 12. Do not forget, finishing the conversation, agree on when and how you learn about the results and thank the interviewer. |
